The Motivation in Short Vocational Programs of Students in Bangkok Metropolitan Administration Mobile Vocational Training Centers

Abstract

This is a survey research. The objective of this research were to: 1) study and compare motivation in short vocational program of students in Bangkok Metropolitan Administration Mobile Vocational Training Centers with 3 aspects, which were personal, occupational, and social motivation, and 2) to compare levels of motivation in taking short-term vocational training courses of students in Bangkok Mobile Vocational Training Centers, classified by age, education level, occupation, and course, and classified by such variables as age, education level, occupation, and category of curricula. Samples were 300 students, who studied short vocational programs of mobile training centers using simple random sampling technique, and statistics for data analysis were percentage, mean, standard deviation, and one-say ANOVA.

Findings revealed that (1) levels of personal, occupational, and social motivation in general and for each aspect, personal motivation was found to be at the highest level, followed by social and occupational motivation respectively, and 2) in this study, motivation levels classified by age, education level, occupation and the curriculum in general and on each aspect indicated no difference among students with different age, education level and occupation, while students with different curricula had different level of satisfaction at the significance level of 0.05.
