Abstract

In this research, the researcher investigates public investment spending on economic growth. The variables studied were investment on education; public health; social weltfare; housing and community in addition to religion; transportation and communication; and agriculture. Budgetary data from the period between 1992 and 2016 were analyzed using Rati Ram’s model as a base for study. Statistical data governing relationships between variables were analyzed using the ordinary least squares (OLS) method. Findings are as
follows: Investments in education; public health; housing and community affected economic growth. However, investment transportation did not affect economic growth. Findings also indicate that an increase in Investment in education; public health; housing and community will accelerate economic growth. Investment in public heath will affect growth at the highest level. Next, in descending order, were investments in education housing and community. However, investment in houing and community. Induce decreases in economic growth.
