Tourism Management by the Community of Bangkrateuk Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Sampran District, Nakhon Pathom Province

Abstract

This research aimed to study tourism management by the community of Bangkrateuk sub-district administrative organization, to study results from tourism management by the community of Bangkrateuk sub-district administrative organization, and to study problems and difficulties in tourism management by the community of Bangkrateuk sub-district administrative organization in Sampran district of Nakhon Pathom province. It is a quantitative research using questionnaire technique collecting data from 365 respondents, who were personnel of Bangkrateuk sub-district administrative organization, and people living in the area of Bangkrateuk sub-district administrative organization. Results revealed that Bangkrateuk sub-district administrative organizations involvement in tourism management by the community was found to be at the high level, while in the aspect of natural and cultural resources, community organization, administration, and community learning were found to be at the high level.

Results from tourism management by the community of Bangkrateuk sub-district administrative organization in Sampran district of Nakhon Pathom province in general were found to be at the high level as it could support the community to become strengthened and self-reliable, and It could promote tourism in the community at the high level, and create jobs and generate more income for the community at the moderate level.

Problems and difficulties in tourism promotion of Bangkrateuk sub-district administrative organization were that its expenditure reserved for the development and promotion for tourism by community was not enough, lacks of manpower to operate tourism by community, especially promotion of attractive tourist spots in the community was limited and not widely communicated, while community infrastructure was not properly developed enough for promoting community tourism.

Problems and difficulties in tourism management by community included lacks of proper community tourism knowledge, supports on their learning and skill development, knowledge about quality improvement, community product standards, joint development of activities, and projects that could benefit the community tourism.
