Abstract


           The objectives of this research work are to study on the important features of the positions of supportive personnel of Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University (SSRU), which will be synthesized for the desirable leadership features and ways to improve them. The samples are 294 supportive personnel of SSRU for the survey and 5 of such personnel for the interviews. The used statistics are frequencies, percentages, means and standard deviations. The information from the interviews and open-end questionnaire is analyzed with content analysis technique. The findings from the research reveal that the important features of supportive personnel. The results from the analysis on the leadership features of the samples with Factor Analysis technique show that the features can be divided into 5 groups, namely, self-improvement, interpersonal skills, planning, participation and communication. Ways to improve the self-improvement feature is that each of the supportive personnel must constantly develop himself/herself in order to attain knowledge and skills that can be effectively applied to works. As for interpersonal skills, the personnel should focus on team work and satisfaction to working with colleagues.  As for planning, it is related to recruitment and selection plan to get personnel that fit the works and the plan to continuously develop the competence of personnel. As for participation, personnel should participate in the making of decisions related to works and solutions to problems. As for communication, personnel must be able to use English language to communicate and to explain to service receivers the work process.
