The Logistics Efficiency Increasing in Rice Mills a Case Study of ABC Rice Mill, Bang Len, Nakhon Pathom

Abstract

The objectives of this research are 1) to study the logistics process of a rice mill, a case study of ABC Rice Mill, Bang Len, Nakhon Pathom. 2) To study guidelines for increasing the efficiency of the rice mill's production process, a case study of ABC Rice Mill, Bang Len, Nakhon Pathom. In-depth interview is used as a research tool to collect data from 14 people who are involved and have experience, with key informants including 1 operator, 5 employees, 4 middlemen and 4 customers. The content analysis is used for qualitative data analysis. The results of the research find that 1) ABC Rice Mill has a well-designed storage area for the product preparation process. The communication between company, customers and middlemen is used for information exchange various activities and make an agreement between the two parties. The human error is the most problems found in every process, which results in delays. 2. Rice mills need to adjust their work processes to be faster in order to be able to produce products in time, plan management to reduce unnecessary work process and increase machine to achieve comprehensive work, increase the production efficiency, fast and efficient transportation.
