Abstract


The purposes of this research were to examine the problem and to study the guidelines for the operating information system of schools in Uthai Thani, Secondary Educational Service Area Office 42. The research was divided into two steps. The first step was to find the problems of operating information system of schools in Uthai Thani, Secondary Educational Service Area Office 42. The sample consisted of 17 school administrators and 231 teachers. The research instrument was a 5 - level rating scale questionnaire with the reliability coefficient of .93. The statistics for data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation. Step 2 was to formulate the guidelines for operating information system of schools in Uthai Thani, Secondary Educational Service Area Office 42 through Focus Group Discussion process among 7 specialists and content analysis technique.

The research findings were as follows:

1. The problems of operating information system within schools of Uthai Thani, Secondary Educational Service Area Office 42 in general were at a high level. When considering aspect by aspect, it was found that the problem in collecting data process, and next to that were the problems of information process, Whereas the lowest problem was checking data.

2. The proposed guidelines for operating information system of the schools in Uthai Thani, Secondary Educational Service Area Office 42 were as follows: 1) Data Collection. Schools should hold a meeting to analyze the context of generality. 2) Data Check. Schools should plan to verify the data by appointing the data examiners. Use monitoring sources from surveys of information questionnaires. Should plan to design ways of verifying the information. 3) Data Processing. Schools should explore the satisfaction from data user. Develop data processing efficiently. 4) Presenting Data and Information. Schools should explore demand for information from stakeholders. 5) Information Storage. Use tools and technology easy to implement. Should use application software from agencies for school administration.
