Abstract


This research aims to study 1) human resource management for digital TV industry in the 21st century 2) present the human resource development model for digital TV industry in the 21st century. The qualitative research was used in in-depth interviews with purposive samplings. The sample group consisted of 9 people, divided into 2 groups: 1) 6 digital television executives and 2) 3 media academics. As well as finding additional documentation related to Human Resource Development & Management for digital TV industry in the 21st century to analyze the data by descriptive analysis. The research found that: Human resource management for digital TV industry in the 21st century, the staffing skills include: Learning and innovation skills: Being able to seek knowledge and self learning. Information, media and technology skills are required as knowledge and management of media. And working skills are adaptable to the context of society as multi skill staff to match with the changing of working environment in the 21st century. Human resource development model for digital TV industry in the 21st century are: 1) Encourage learning and knowledge about digital media 2) Promoting positive thinking and attitudes. 3) Adapting and applying information technology skill to maximize the benefits 4) Promoting the development of multi skill. 5) Promoting the development of multi tasking skills 6) Promoting effective communication skills in both work and daily life. This combination model will provide talented personnel with high potential for workplace and ready to develop their potentials to match the high competition for digital TV industry in the 21st century.
