Abstract


This study aimed to develop activities that can flourish the social skills of early-childhood schoolers. The participants of this study were teachers and parents of early-childhood schoolers in three schools that were in the Teacher Practicum Program of Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University. Study tools were an evaluation form on social skills of the children, an evaluation form on the activities, and a report on the use of the activities.  Mean ( x̅ ), Standard Deviation (S.D.), and T-test were employed for data analysis.

The study found that the activities for social skill development of early-childhood schoolers meet the set efficiency level. The children’s social skills statistically increased (P-level 0.05) after the implementation of the developed activities.  In addition, teachers’ opinion towards the use of the activities was at high level of  x̅ = 4.19.  The teachers also had significant improvement in developing activities to flourish early childhood schoolers’ social skills.

This study suggested that:

1. Teachers or activities implementations are required to have background knowledge on the community and school context in details before implementing the activity.

2. Teachers employing the activities in their class were recommended to specify the implementation steps and its timeline, proper with the community and school context.

3. Teachers employing the activities in their classes need to have physical and mental strength, sufficient time and budget, determination, devotion, and sympathy
