Abstract
The government of Thailand had approved 10 special development economic zones (SDEZ) in 2014, its emergence as opportunity of border trades between Thailand and its neighboring countries due to more viable regional connectivity and economic synergy along the borders. To achieve the region’s competitiveness, Thailand and its neighbors have to identify and cooperate on product’s value chain management in order to capture higher product value. The Special Economic Zone (SEZ) cooperation will uplift local skilled labor, private sector competency and community value. The aim of this paper is to study the interest of manufacturing industries of Thailand for inventing in Thailand’s SDEZ. This study used quantitative method by providing 200 questionnaires to manufacturing industries (Manufacture of made-up textile industry, processing and preserving of fish and fish products industry) of Thailand and analyzed data using mean, and standard deviation. This paper found that the manufactories are preparing to invest in Thailand’s SDEZ. However, the investors still interesting the SEZ but highly concern about the Thailand’s SDEZ policy. The high-level of concern comprise of quality of the infrastructure and policy support from Government. The complementarily of the development of SEZ are manufactory linkages in CLMV which will utilize value chain production in the region. Moreover, business partnership can create an opportunity to access in resources and open the new market.
