A SURVEY OF WORK PERFORMANCE AMONG PERSONNEL OF THE OFFICE OF THE PERMANENT SECRETARY, MINISTRY OF INTERIOR
Abstract
This study aimed to examine the level of work performance among personnel of the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior. The study employed a quantitative research approach using a survey design. The sample consisted of 344 personnel from the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior. Data were collected using a five-point rating scale questionnaire and analyzed by means of descriptive statistics, including the mean and standard deviation. The findings revealed that the overall work performance of personnel in the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior was at a high level, with a mean score of 3.82 and a standard deviation of 0.20. When each dimension was considered separately, all dimensions were also found to be at a high level. Ranked in descending order of mean scores, Quality of Work (QUALI) recorded the highest mean (Mean = 3.96, S.D. = 0.82), followed by Quantity of Work (QUNTI) (Mean = 3.85, S.D. = 0.94) and Time (TIME) (Mean = 3.76, S.D. = 0.93), respectively. Cost-effectiveness (COSTE) had the lowest mean score (Mean = 3.71, S.D. = 0.51); however, it remained at a high level. The findings indicate that personnel of the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior demonstrated a strong level of work performance across all dimensions, with quality of work emerging as the most prominent strength. At the same time, cost-effectiveness appears to be the dimension that warrants further improvement in order to enhance work performance more comprehensively.
