Abstract


This research project had the objective to study on the participation of communities in the management of pre-school child centers of local administrative organizations (LAOs) of Cha Choeng Sao Province. The samples are 167 pre-school child centers selected with the simple random sampling technique. The respondents are 501 members of three communities around each center. Tools used in this research are a questionnaire and a structured interview script. Improvement tool inspect  from supervisor 5 people  and in all over view always got confidence of questionnaire = .965 The used statistics are frequencies, percentages, means and standard deviations. The information from the interviews and open-end questionnaire is analyzed with content analysis technique. The findings show that the level of community participation is high. The category of problem solution and operation has the highest mean followed by the categories of planning evaluation activity and operation and decision making, respectively.  As for the way to improve community participation, it is suggested that many agencies in the levels of communities, local agencies and central ones should collaborate with one another in the form of multi-lateral activities. The budget must be sufficient for the arrangement of activities to develop children. Communities should participate in making plans that agree to policies, objectives, targets and budgets in all processes.
