producers. They often caused from a combination of primary and opportunistic pathogens. Pleuropneumonia is the major syndrome of PRD that is caused by Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae. This study aimed to investigate the histopathological changes of the pulmonary t i s sues f rom pl europneumoni c pigs . The resul t s reveal ed that A. pleuropneumoniae is the common pathogen in the pulmonary tissues. In addition, the lung showed histopathological changes, including infiltration of inflammatory cells, degeneration of pulmonary parenchyma and accumulation of amorphous and fibrinous proteinaceous materials. These histopathological changes suggest acute and chronic inflammatory responses within tissues.
