A STUDY OF PROBLEMS IN THESIS WRITING OF MASTER'S DEGREE STUDENTS IN EDUCATIONAL ADMINISTRATION, SUAN SUNANDHA RAJABHAT UNIVERSITY
Abstract
This study aimed to examine problems encountered in completing theses among students in the Educational Administration program at Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University. Data were collected using a questionnaire. The sample comprised 50 respondents—students and faculty members in the Educational Administration program—who returned the questionnaire in full, yielding a 100% response rate. Results showed that most respondents were female (62.0%), aged 31–40 years (50.0%), single (76.0%), and had a monthly income of 15,001–25,000 THB (56.0%). Overall, the perceived level of problems in conducting theses was moderate ( = 2.77). By dimension, student readiness had the highest mean ( = 2.80), followed by research competence ( = 2.78), curriculum and instruction ( = 2.76), and thesis advisor attributes ( = 2.74), respectively. Key bottlenecks included health and work–study time balance (readiness); selecting a research topic, data analysis, and writing conclusions/discussion (research competence); the coverage and timeliness of advising; and the appropriateness and currency of research/statistics courses.
