THE USE OF TECHNOLOGY AND DIGITAL MEDIA TO PROMOTE ACTIVE LEARNING AMONG UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

Abstract


This research aimed to study students' opinions on the use of technology and digital media and to investigate students' satisfaction with Active Learning instruction. The population for this study was first-year students from the Faculty of Education at Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University. Tools used to design the instructional activities included Kahoot!, Quizizz, Padlet, Canva, Google Workspace, multimedia (videos, infographics), and VR/AR technology. Data were collected using questionnaires from a total sample of 59 students. The analysis of student opinions employed mean and standard deviation, with results presented in a descriptive narrative. The key findings are as follows: 1. The study of student opinions regarding the use of technology and digital media showed that students held most positive opinions was at a highest level and moderate level negative opinions towards its use in instruction. 2. The study of student satisfaction with Active Learning instruction found that students' satisfaction was at a high level. This indicates that students possess a positive attitude towards the learner-centered approach. Students felt this method made the content relevant to their learning styles, offered diverse activities, promoted participation and content understanding, fostered a connection between knowledge and real life, and allowed learners to develop critical thinking skills, collaboration, and self-directed research and knowledge creation.
