Abstract


The objectives of this research were for 1. Learning lesson of how to maintenance and repair books in Academic Resource Center at Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University 2. Making up book maintenance and repair manual for Academic Resource Center at Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University.
The processes were done by interviewed 4 librarians and 1 library’s staff during 1st October 2014 – 31st September 2015 then, analyzed the data. Later, book maintenance and repair manual has been written by brainstorming. After that, meeting has been arranged again for the manual evaluation. The quality tool
using in lesson learned process of book maintenance and repair, and data collection were adapted from Living Library Project’s questionnaire, transformed into a structure interview using purposive sampling. Techniques and knowledge have been found as results of the research as follows;
Knowledge no. 1: The book maintenance and repair were for long lasting of books, this helped books being in good condition, ready for service.
Knowledge no. 2: There were two types of book maintenance and repair

1. New books, it was the way to strengthen the new books recently bought in to library, for last long using.
2. Old books, it was the way to repair them, trying to fix them to be in good condition and ready for giving service to next reader.
Knowledge no. 3: The steps of book maintenance were; book preparation, cover preparation and covering process.
Knowledge no. 4: The important technique for keeping books in good condition and long lasting were 1. Book prevention 2. Book repair
Knowledge no. 5: The main key factors for book maintenance and repair were 1. Efficiency 2. Economy 3. Exquisiteness 4. Benefit Book maintenance and repair manual for Academic Resource Center at Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University.
